  • Art exhibition Khayt with girl weaving

    Khayt, a 100 sqm contemporary art installation exploring Middle Eastern arts and culture. Created by artist, Sandra Tinari, supported by a team of creatives and design students, Khayt reinvented the traditional string weaving culture of the UAE, Sadu. Located at The Dubai Mall, with 25,000 visitors per day over a two-week residency, the participatory installation invited visitors to weave giant minimalist cubes with the artist and designers, creating abstract shape and forms.

  • An art and design exhibition featuring creative chairs

    Exhibition: Kursi

    Kursi, meaning chair in Arabic, was a design challenge and exhibition developed and curated by Sandra Tinari for Dubai Design Week. Kursi explored chair design, in partnership with renowned Swiss design house, Vitra. Kursi took inspiration from Vitra’s iconic Panton chair to launch new ideas and consider the future of chair design. The exhibition was created for Dubai’s new Design University, DIDI.

  • Installation: Al-Thorrya

    Art & Culture: Installations

    Sandra created a smaller re-iteration of Khayt with her creative team, at the invitation of the inaugural Al Burda Festival in Dubai. Entitled Al-Thorrya, the interactive installation invited viewers to walk through the artwork, with a focus on the sense of touch and experience as they immersed themselves amongst the flowing silk twine and 3D printed ’pearl’ orbs.

  • Exhibition: Design DXB

    As artist and curator, Sandra’s photographic art featured in the group exhibition Design DIDI x DXB. The photography exhibition featured the artworks of four artists and explored arts, creativity and design in Dubai from varied points of view and cultures. Sandra artworks featured portraits of emerging artists and designers in their studios.
